Delivery

How will my order get to me / which delivery company do you use?

We use DPD as our courier as we have found them to be best in terms of getting our time sensitive product to your door.

How will my order be packaged?

All of our products are despatched in temperature controlled packaging with additional chill packs to ensure that our product reaches you in the best possible condition. Please note with frozen orders that whilst we take the above precautions to ensure your order reaches you in a fully frozen state, this cannot be guaranteed.

What is the cost of delivery?

A one day service costs £10.00, a two day service is £15.00. This charge is automatically applied when you place your order.

What is the minimum order amount per recipient to enjoy free of charge shipping?

If you spend over £80 on your order (per person that you are ordering for) you can get your one day delivery free of charge.

How long will it take for me to receive my delivery?

Mainland UK: One day service. 
Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands, Northern Scotland, Scilly Isles, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of White: Two day service.

Do you supply into Europe, the Republic of Ireland, Scottish Islands and Northern Highlands?

No, we don’t at this time. Our courier cannot guarantee that our products would be delivered on time and due to the perishable nature of our products, this is not a feasible option.

If I wish to order for myself, how do I do this?

Add items to your basket and checkout as usual. You will be taken to the checkout page where you can fill out your details and provide your delivery address, Once complete you can continue with payment of your order to complete.

Creating an Order for Myself

If I wish to order for multiple recipients, how do I do this?

Add items to your basket and checkout as usual. You will be taken to the checkout page where you will see a message displayed if you are able to use multiple shipping options on what’s in your cart. From there you can set addresses for delivery and decide which items you would like to go to which recipient.

My Account

Can I use my login details from the previous Barony Country Foods & Lochengower site?

You cannot use your previous login details, however you can register today with your current email address.

Get an Account

Can I place an order as a guest? / Do I need an account to place an order?

You can place an order as a guest and do not have to create an account if you don’t want to. When you enter your billing details on the checkout page, you will have the option to create an account. Just leave this box unchecked if you would prefer to checkout as a guest / don’t want to create an account.

What information do I need to create an account?

You will need an email address, your billing address and card details.

If I create an account, will it store previous orders and addresses?

Yes, we can save addresses so that you don’t have to add them each time you check out. Alternatively, you can just add them in manually each time if you would prefer.

Is this secure?

Yes, all of our systems are secure and monitored, and we would urge you to use a safe and secure password when creating an account.

If I forget my password, can it be reset?

Yes. Just click the ‘Lost your password?’ link on the account login page and you will be able to set up a new one.

I would like to be removed from your mailing list, how do I do this?

Payment

How do I pay for my order?

We accept credit and debit cards, payment via PayPal, or you can sent a cheque.

I don’t like ordering online, can I phone my order in or email?

Yes. You can also request a paper or electronic copy of our order forms.

What has happened to Lochengower?

Lochengower has been amalgamated into our parent company, Barony Country Foods. This ensures continuity of products and services, longevity of our business and a much wider breadth of products for you to enjoy. Simply put, you can now buy everything from caviar to wild boar burgers from us, alongside the smoked products that you would expect.

I have ordered from Lochengower for years, will my product be the same quality that I have come to expect?

Yes. Barony Country Foods have produced smoked products for themselves and Lochengower smokehouse for many years, so you can be assured that you will get the same great tasting product.

What is the difference between hot and cold smoking?

How many slices of Salmon are in 125g, 250g and 1kg side packs?

125g = 5 slices
250g = 9 slices
1kg = 38 slices

Where do you source your products from?

We try to source our products locally whenever possible. However, due to our large product range which is diverse in nature, sometimes we do need to source from reputable suppliers elsewhere.

What is the shelf life of your products?

Fresh Fish: Four days from date of despatch
Shellfish: Four days from date of despatch
Smoked products: 14 days from date of despatch
Venison: 7 days from date of despatch
Beef: 7 days from date of dispatch 
Frozen products vary, but the best before date is on the outer packaging

Do you have a shop that I can visit?

Yes we do. You can find out more about our shop here. We are open from 9am until 3pm from Tuesday to Saturday, and there is ample parking with disabled parking right beside our door. For local customers, we also offer a click and collect option from Lochmaben (9am until 3pm from Tuesday to Saturday).
