A traditional Scottish favourite, Arbroath Smokies are made with fresh Scottish haddock, hot smoked using a unique method which has been around since the late 19th century. They are cleaned and the head removed, but left on the bone and sold in packs of two.

Arbroath Smokies are hot smoked and ready to eat, so they can be eaten cold, however here at the Barony Smokehouse we prefer to eat them warm. Why not try our chef’s tip? Instead of a typical Cullen Skink using smoked haddock, try making it with Arbroath Smokies for a rich, traditional flavour. Alternatively, you could make them into fishcakes and serve with a spicy chilli jam. Delicious!
