Barony Country Foods was originally started from a small, converted barn at Carse of Ae Farm, near Dumfries in 1998.
From its modest conception, our company has expanded and due to this success, we have extended our range of produce to include fresh fish from all over the world, shellfish from Scotland’s west coast, and oven ready game sourced from the many sporting estates in South West Scotland.

Dumfries and Galloway Life Awards 2016
In November 2016 Barony Country Foods was nominated, for the second year running, for the Dumfries and Galloway Life Awards. We were delighted to win the prestigious “Producer of the Year Award 2016”

In 2015 we were very proud to be nominated for the first time ever for the Dumfries and Galloway Life awards 2015. Unfortunately, we didn’t win but were absolutely delighted to be nominated.
Visit Scotland 4 Star Tourist Shop
In Spring 2016 we were pleased to be awarded 4 Star Tourist Shop status by Visit Scotland. It was great to be shown such respected recognition for our new shop.
Scottish Oak Smoked Salmon Great Taste Award
The Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste Award is widely recognised in the UK as one of the most prestigious awards in food. In 2010 we entered our Scottish Oak Smoked Salmon in for this award and received two gold stars (Flawless).
Scottish Oak Smoked Venison Great Taste Award
The Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste Award is widely recognised in the UK as one of the most prestigious awards in food. In 2010 we entered our Scottish Oak Smoked Venison with Juniper Oil and Black Pepper in for this award and received one gold star.
Hot Smoked Trout Fillets Great Taste Award
2006 saw Barony Country Foods win its first ever award from The Guild of Fine Foods for our Hot Smoked Trout Fillets. We were awarded a Silver Star for our Hot Smoked Trout Fillets at the Great Taste Awards 2005.
Oak Smoked Goose Breasts Great Taste Award
In 2021, our Oak Smoked Goose Breasts were awarded two gold stars by The Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste Award. Widely recognised in the UK as one of the most prestigious awards in food, we were thrilled to win such a renowned industry accolade.
